A message to staff and students in response to the violent protests in UK cities.
Dear students, staff and members of our community,
I wanted to contact you at a time when, following the horrific events in Southport last week in which three young girls were tragically killed, we have seen dreadful thuggery, racism and Islamophobia on the streets of some UK cities.
It is a time when we need to look out for each other more than usual: for our students, staff, colleagues and friends, who may be here in Cambridge or in places directly affected by these awful events, and who may be feeling worried or concerned. At Cambridge, we are one community and will resist every attempt to polarise us along racial or religious lines.Â
I encourage you to check in, and to offer support and friendship. ̽»¨Ö±²¥ including the ̽»¨Ö±²¥ Counselling Service and ̽»¨Ö±²¥â€™s  is also available to provide support to those affected.
