The Multi Media Archive serves the needs for the growing amount of large archives with mixed content like Documents, Video and Audio.  

 

DAX Archiving Solutions has developed a solution that is capable of scanning high volumes of documents and pictures, encoding Video, encoding Audio, store all the content and make the content accessible through a web published content management database.

 

The Challenge Many organizations face the problem of having their Content Assets in many different formats. The older part of the content resides un-searchable and fast degrading, on (paper) documents, on videotapes and also audiotapes. The more recent Digital Assets reside on a collection of servers, desktops and notebooks. Searching on Content Assets at best requires consulting multiple databases and lots of time, but often is a mission impossible. For many organizations it is key to capitalize on the Content Assets. To maintain a learning organization and keep a competitive edge, access to knowledge and experience of the past is mandatory. 

 

 

 

 

The Solution 

The Digital Media Archive Solution consists of the required number of input workstations for scanning documents, encoding video and/or audio. Video will be encoded to the required digital format (i.e. MPEG-2 or DV) and meta-data will be added to the database for searching purposes. The same process is applicable for Audio sources. Adding Media already in digital format can easily be added to the Digital Media database as it is. The digital media are stored in the Media Storage Network consisting of a smart and cost effective combination of fast response Hard disk clusters and DVD or Tape libraries. The Digital Media will be managed by the central archive server which will run the data-base and publish this database to the Intranet or Internet. Secure Content Payment methods and Digital Rights Management can be implemented as well.
